A year in review – 2009

December 7, 2009

As I wrap up my new sessions this year, I will be posting my favorite shots from this first year of business, with thanks and immense gratitude for all of my clients, friends, and family for all of the support they have given me.  As I was chatting with a client online a few weeks ago, my heart swelled with the thought of all of the wonderful people that I have met and the friends that I have made.  I’m grateful to all of you for putting your trust in me to hire me as your photographer, to capture your family as they are.  I feel lucky to say that I have found something that makes my soul happy…there’s nothing like that feeling of knowing you captured a perfect moment, racing home to download that picture and staring at it with a happy sigh…and it’s addicting!  I’m always thinking about that next picture..the one in my head that I’m *going* to take.

I want to take a second to thank a few people…my family, who have put up with endless amounts of time of me being on the computer, out shooting and running a business in general.  They have been nothing but supportive of my dream, and I’m forever grateful for that.  My dear husband who is there for the ups and the downs, the disappointments and successes…I wouldn’t be able to do this without you.  My mom for all of the babysitting hours she put in while I was out having a blast with you all, and for instilling in me the belief that I can do anything I want to if I just put my mind to it.

To my clients/friends who trusted me when I wanted to try something a little different, striving to fulfill that vision, to finally take the picture that only lives in my head.

To Aubrey of AubMarie Productions, who worked with me all year in making some beautiful videos for some clients and my own family. It has been such a privilege to work with her, and to have her with me as I shoot.  The videos that she makes are the most beautiful things, and I believe every family should have one!

And lastly to all of you, the readers of my blog!  A comment on my pictures makes my day, and I appreciate you coming to visit me!  Thank you so much!!

Without further babbling on, here are my favorites from each session this year.  And so this doesn’t turn into a monster blog post, I’m going to cut it into 5 posts.

Thanks again, everyone!!

To be continued tomorrow!

I met Bobby and Jen this past week for another engagement session (3 in one week, phew!)  Anyway, it was great hanging out with them and seriously, how stunning is she?

From the second we started shooting, we were laughing….Adam and Anna are so funny, cute, and totally in love with each other!  When she talked about doing a session with their longboards, I was stoked…LOVE to incorporate those things into my shoots…it makes them so personal and meaningful!  I shot these with the fabulous Sheryll, and I can’t wait to shoot the bridals and their wedding soon!

Also, this week is going to be a blogging extravaganza!  Doesn’t that make it sound totally fun?  How about blogging festival?  Maybe blogging spectacular?  Pick the one that makes you happy and come back every day this week for a new post!

And now onto the love birds:

When I asked these two lovebirds how they met, I was met with a few giggles, then the story of the first kiss at 15, dating on and off through high school.  Parker then went on a mission and soon after he came back, he took her to a special spot up American Fork Canyon and proposed…they just knew they were meant to be.

So, thanks to Megan and Parker, and I can’t wait to shoot your wedding in August!  Here is your sneak peek, some of my favorites from the session.

Special thanks to Studio Enizio for doing a fabulous job with Megan’s hair and makeup.
